What are the Benefits of Getting Dentures in a Day?
Patients do not have to wait to receive the benefits of a stable denture. They get an immediately functioning set of teeth fixed to implants. This means that they do not have to deal with some of the problems traditional dentures have such as slipping out of the mouth and loosing shape. Dentures over implants remain in the mouth at all times, look like natural teeth, and immediately give patients an impressive bite capacity.
How to Get Dentures in a Day
Make an appointment with one of our BC Registered Denturists, Chris Kozakiewicz or Kaja Donauer. We offer free consultations to those interested in the Dentures in a Day procedure. Once you have made the decision for this treatment, we will take impressions of your mouth and put you in touch with one of our preferred local Oral Surgeons. The oral surgeon will take scans of your jaws and plan out a surgical guide for the placement of your dental implants. Patients will need at least 4 dental implants per arch - This is considered the “All-on-4” procedure. Typically we, your Delta Denturist and the Oral Surgeon will schedule your day to receive the implants and denture about three weeks out from the day you get your impressions at our office. This ensures enough time for your denture to be made and the optimal surgical guide to be created.
Day of Surgery and Denture Placement
Many people find that dental implant placement via a surgical guide is an easier experience than they anticipate. If there are no teeth to extract, four implants can be placed in as little as an hour. For anxious patients, ask your oral surgeon about oral sedation or IV sedation and enlist a friend or family member to drive you to your appointments. After implants are placed, the oral surgeon will send you over to our office for the fitting of your new attached denture. Denturists Chris or Kaja will fit the new denture in your mouth and the oral surgeon will connect it to your new implants, giving you a functioning set of beautiful stable teeth in one day. There will be a number of check up appointments to ensure proper funcion of your new teeth.
